Accounting Support – Temporary with Potential for Long-Term Role (Full-Time)
Location: On-site ~ Byron Center, MI Office
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Assignment: Full-time temporary, November 2026 through mid-May 2027, with potential to move into a long-term position
About the role
Martin Transportation Systems is hiring a detail-oriented Accounting Support professional for a full-time temporary assignment. You’ll join our accounting team and help keep accounts payable and daily processing running smoothly through year-end and audit season. This role has the potential to become a long-term position for the right candidate, depending on performance and business needs. It’s a good fit if you’re looking for a role you can grow into.
What you’ll do
- Enter and process invoices for MTS of Canada
- Enter and process carrier invoices and payments, including setting up new carriers and running weekly payments
- Enter fuel coding and fuel invoices
- Enter manual payments daily
- Process monthly rent payments and recurring vendor payments
- Prepare a daily virtual card report for leadership
- Maintain the Certify/credit card reconciliation spreadsheet
- Review vendor statements and help maintain accounts payable aging
- Support general accounts payable as needed
- Help with the annual audit
- Handle filing and general administrative support for the accounting team
What we’re looking for
- 5+ years of accounts payable and general accounting experience
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy with data entry
- Comfortable with Excel and accounting software
- Able to manage daily deadlines and recurring monthly tasks
- Interest in a long-term accounting role is a plus
- Transportation or logistics experience is a plus, not required
