AI Process Engineer

MTS is seeking a hands-on AI Process Engineer to design, build, and maintain AI-enabled solutions across a diverse group of businesses spanning transportation and logistics, warehousing and distribution, and marina operations.
This is not a role focused on AI theory. You’ll work directly with operational teams to understand how work gets done, identify opportunities for improvement, connect systems, automate workflows, develop and apply AI models, and turn operational data into actionable information.
What You’ll Do
- Design and build integrations connecting internal, customer, vendor, and partner systems.
- Develop AI models, AI-enabled applications, automations, and workflows that solve real business problems.
- Identify inefficient processes and redesign them before automating them.
- Use APIs, EDI, SQL, Power BI, data mapping, and other integration technologies to improve the flow and visibility of information.
- Analyze operational data to identify trends, exceptions, risks, delays, and improvement opportunities.
- Own solutions from discovery and design through testing, implementation, maintenance, user adoption, and continuous improvement.
What We’re Looking For
We’re looking for someone who is technically strong, naturally curious, and genuinely interested in understanding how businesses operate. The ideal candidate has 5+ years of relevant experience in systems integration, process automation, data engineering, business intelligence, AI model development/configuration, or application development. A related bachelor’s degree is preferred, but equivalent practical experience will be considered.
Most importantly, you should be someone who can move beyond identifying an opportunity and build, implement, troubleshoot, and improve the solution.
